As the result of the research project basic requirements to the accounting system of SME have been revealed. The researchers have forwarded the following proposals: - to recommend simplified accounting report forms based on limited amount of information; - to recommend a list of simplified procedures to be implemented by SME on the basis of double-entry book-keeping; - to allow SME to report once a year; - for accounting purposes to allow SME to use indices calculated on the basis of the Tax Law.
Winding up the Round Table discussion Leonid Shneidman, Head of the Department of the Finance Ministry in charge of monitoring state financial control, auditing activity, accounting and reporting, noted that the research made by the NOFA Foundation had revealed the real consumers of SME accounting reports besides tax and statistical bodies and the needs of these consumers.
